Kelsey Grammer and his wife Camille leave the Ritz Carlton Hotel to go out for a spot of tea. Upon returning, it was evident that the two also did some shopping. Ooh, I hope they bought me a new pair of slacks. Can’t keep doing Book of ‘Bert’ press in jeans.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg joined Tyra Banks and Claire Unabia, Saliesha Cooper and Jaslene Gonzalez of America’s Next Top Model to plant an Oak tree on 9th Avenue last week. Tyra also recieved a proclamation to honor The Tyra Banks Show.
I really think the topic of mustaches would bring down the house on her show. So far, the publicists of the show don’t think so. Write the show now and request a little bert on Banks, would ya!?

Dance Week One
By Lisa Cannavo
March Madness has officially begun in South Jersey (where I blog from). Spreadsheets are out; brackets have been drawn; green tea and 100 calorie snacks are surgically attached to me; pastel pink legal pad has been purchased..
And for those of you who don’t follow my weekly insight on what is my favorite reality tv show of all time; you are in for a treat. For those who followed last season, welcome back. I never thought I would make it through the past 4 months following Helio’s extraordinary victory. Somehow I did and now am ready to recap the first week of a highly diverse season. 12 celebrities have arrived and next week, 2 will be going home in a groundbreaking double elimination. Each contestant brought some of their own onto the dance floor; a few may need to bring other items on Monday night’s Latin/Quickstep show. Read the rest of this entry »

Beyonce and Jay-Z had a late lunch at Bar Pitti in the West Village yesterday. Each walked out alone to a large gathering of fans and photographers. Surprisingly not among the crowd? Kool Moe Dee.

Survivor: China Week 2
By Lisa Cannavo
When Dave and PG stepped up to the challenge of becoming tribe leaders for the already floundering Zhan-Hu; one would automatically assume that this just can lead to all kinds of trouble. And then another would assume that this could help. What could possibly go wrong? Read the rest of this entry »

We mean…16 Minutes with Gillion Cloney
By Jon Chattman
Growing up, George Clooney wanted to be an actor but the similarly named Gillion Cloney wanted to be either a fashion designer or a race car driver. The now 34 year old ended up doing neither although one former childhood dream is somewhat of a reality. OK, not really but she helps women get all dolled up and look pretty. That’s pretty close to a fashion designer, right? No? OK, forget this whole intro. Anyway, Cloney works for CatCosmetics.com, a manufacturing company run by former soap actress and Broadway star Catherine Hickland. She digs it a lot, and last time we checked George Clooney didn’t know shit about cosmetics.

“Clark Gable is a no-brainer, but, … growing up with Magnum P.I., Tom Selleck would have to have been one of my guilty pleasure favorites. Actually, it was beards I loved a la Barry Gibb… Still do! Singers of indie bands and current BF attest.”

Don’t Envy Me
By Mark Lungariello
A former co-worker of mine told me she wanted to write a memoir about the daily life of a journalist. Sleeping in, meeting interesting people, rubbing elbows with celebrities, having your food and drinks paid for by the people or groups you’re covering. Well, I’ll be honest, my experience isn’t as glamorous as all that. Actually, working at www.thecheappop.com may seem like the ideal job, but I have to admit it has its downside.

Dance manatee dance!
Interview with FTM guitarist Cliff Campbell
By Mike Johnson
Spend two minutes on Fair to Midland’s Myspace page and you’ll see footage of lead singer Darroh Sudderth hanging upside-down from the rafters like a supercharged rock and roll batman, belting out lyrics to an adoring crowd. You learn right away that this is rock music in its purest form: A controlled chaos created by intense energy, deep and meaningful lyrics, and the meshing together of several different musical tastes and styles. Dane aims for laughs and love in “Chuck”
By Jon Chattman

Comedian-turned-actor Dane Cook wanted to emulate Steve Martin growing up. The Boston native, now 35, considers Planes, Trains, and Automobiles to be among his favorite films ever. “I want to tell stories that have big laughs and big heart [like that],” he explained in a recent interview. Reel Big Fish’s John Christianson humors us
By Mark Lungariello
It’s morning in late August, and Reel Big Fish trumpet player and vocalist John Christianson is wandering through the streets of Davenport, Iowa. He’s just checking out local bookstores and shops killing time until the rest of the band wakes up. Christianson works on a different clock than some of the other members of the band, he says. That’s why he’s the first one awake, and why it’s only him walking the streets and. That’s also why he’s the only one doing an interview with thecheappop.com.
