Confessions of a Cougar: Josh Hamilton

As the MLB Playoffs begin, many stories dominated the 2008 season. Minus the farewells of Shea and Yankee Stadiums; the retiring of Mike Piazza; the amazing story of Josh Hamilton was the one I felt stood out from the rest. For those of you who did not follow his storybook season, the 27-year old North Carolina native battled addiction, lost his way, and within six years, turned into one of the top players in the American League. With the help of the man upstairs and his future father-in-law; Josh’s recovery and life post-addiction is one only found on the Hallmark Channel. His faith channels itself onto the playing field, and if you saw his unreal performance at the All-Star Game; you would understand. Josh had an insane season with the Texas Rangers, and here’s hoping that what started in spring training last winter and continued through the season replays itself in 2009. Plus, um, he’s a looker.
